It is the weekend after Wikimania. It is very well attended by authors so would be a good place to gather voice intros and even interviews.
- It will have an exhibition hall with dealers tables, art exhibition, poster displays. Do we want a table there for our voice intro booth?
- It will have a large program of panels on all kinds of stuff SF fans are interested in. Do we have a photographer interested in hanging out in the Green room taking pics of panel members?
- It will have the Hugo award ceremony (If you buy membership you get to vote and you get a copy of most of the nominated works included in your membership).
- It will have a multimedia stream and a music stream and a lot of hanging out in bars discussing stuff till late.
Is WMUK interested in participating? Is WMUK interested in paying for memberships for volunteers who would be willing to man a booth? Loncon3 is starting to finalise their arrangements so we need to decide what we are interested in doing.YoursJoeOn Wed, Mar 19, 2014 at 7:13 PM, Michael Peel <michael.peel@manchester.ac.uk> wrote:
Or keep things on-list/on-wiki for transparency?

I'd be potentially interested in helping do something here.
With the August SciFi conference in London - I know one of the organising committee for that, and previously put them in touch with Ed/James/Saad to see if anything could be done. I'm not sure whether the page on the Wikimania wiki is related to that contact, or if it's an independent activity. If it is separate, then I'd be happy to provide another introduction here...
Thanks,
Mike
