Yes, on the general point, common sense prevails. For example if a subject, or someone who knows them says "Actually the primary school is wrong it should be X" and the primary school is unsourced, then it makes sense to change it - mentioning on the talk page - an RS  will probably be along sooner or later. If, however, it were some contentious item "actually I was going to be nominated for 7 Oscars not 2, but MGM prevented it" then no, it stays out.  And certainly a challenge from the subject should make us think carefully about the sourcing, attribution and phrasing of almost any statement.
