Code the City (of which I am trustee) are hosting an Environment-themed hack weekend, this Saturday and Sunday.

We have a couple of proposed projects, and attendees can pitch their own. Those taking part then form teams to work on a project for the weekend.

We know that one of the team is going to be working on a major push of data to Wikidata for Household Waste Recycling Centres for both Scotland and England. Hence my sending this to the mailing list for others who might be interested in the project or in learning about using tools such as Quick Statements to add bulk data to Wikidata.

Details can be found here: https://codethecity.org/code-the-city-22-the-environment/? and sign-ups are still open.

The event runs Saturday 09:30 to 4pm and Sunday 09:30 to 3pm approx.

Attendance is free, and it is all on Zoom, Miro  (supported by Slack if needed)

Hopefully we’ll see some of you there
