Dear all

I've recently been in conversation with Red Sky Productions, a television production company that creates factual television for leading UK and international broadcasters, who are developing a programme about the thousands of people in the UK who write and edit articles on Wikipedia. This came about as one of Red Sky's researchers heard my interview on the Today programme as part of the #100womenwiki project late last year, which sparked her interest in the structures, processes and above all the people that make up Wikipedia.

Red Sky is particularly interested in the Wikipedian community and how Wikipedia has brought people together both on and offline, and are keen to talk to as many editors as possible about their work and involvement in the community. There is no requirement to take part in any filming; at this stage they are just researching and would like to have a friendly and informal chat over the phone. They are also keen to hear about any social Wikipedian gatherings that are coming up, which you may be happy for them to pop along to.

If you’re interested in sharing your experiences, you can contact Yasmin at Red Sky Productions on 0141 370 3486 or Yasmin.morgangriffiths@redskyproductions.co.uk.

Please note that Ewan McAndrew, Wikimedian in Residence at Edinburgh University, has shared Yasmin's message with the Scot-Wiki mailing list so apologies for any cross-posting. Ewan has also spoken to Red Sky (who are based in Scotland so naturally have a particular interest in activities taking place there), and Ewan and I both feel this could be an interesting opportunity to promote the unsung work of the Wikimedia movement's community of volunteer contributors.

All best

Lucy
