I picked up a paper copy of this brochure and I'm very impressed with it. I think it will be useful at events and partnerships. My only gripe is that the jigsaw piece character looks old-fashioned and flat, but I'm told the Commons community themselves rejected alternatives.
Would it be a lot of work to create a localised version? On 7 August 2013 16:07, Michael Maggs <Michael@maggs.name> wrote:
Hi DariaI have read through this, and it looks very good indeed. I think that a UK version could actually be pretty similar, except for some UK-specific examples and a global change from the spelling 'license' to 'licence'. (The former is very offputting to me as a UK reader)MichaelOn 7 Aug 2013, at 15:37, Daria Cybulska wrote:_______________________________________________Hi All,A new brochure about Wikimedia Commons has been produced. Designed to be a companion brochure to the Welcome to Wikipedia brochure, it covers what Commons is, how to upload files, how to use files, and the basics of free licenses - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Illustrating_Wikipedia_brochure.pdfWe would like to have a version printed in the UK as well. What are your thoughts on the content? Do you think we already have a brochure that does the job better?Do let Stevie know (stevie.bentonwikimedia.org.uk) - we may even manage to get it ready for Wiki Loves Monuments in September! Many thanks,Daria--
