When you have the time, I would recommend having a look at:

for the starting pages for the 2012 fundraiser (kicking off in November), and:

for what happened in last year's fundraiser.

is the current draft of the fundraising agreement we'll be operating under this year, and:

gives some of the background with the global fundraising strategy for the future.

I'd also recommend reading:

which gives an idea of where Wikimedia's heading in the future with fundraising and distributing funds.

For all of these pages, be sure to also read (and if you have questions, contribute to) the 'Talk' pages for discussion about the documents. (And ditto everyone else reading this email!)
