Hi Harry,

I can confirm Wikimedia UK will run a separate process closer to Wikimania. Any one from the UK who has already made an application through the Wikimedia Foundation scholarship process and has agreed to "share [their] information with chapters and thematic organizations for purpose of selecting and awarding scholarships" will not need to make another application. Anyone else can wait until Wikimedia UK own application are open.

Hi Katie,

I asked this a while ago and your answer was essentially "we're working on it", but I don't think I'm the only one wondering, so I'll ask on this list.

What do UK (in particular non-London)  residents who want financial support to attend do? Is there going to be a separate process or do we need to apply for a scholarship through the WMF (which would be a bit silly imho)?

I'm sure it would be useful to know before the scholarships deadline.

Thanks,

If you were thinking of applying for a scholarship from either the
Wikimania Foundation, Wikimedia Deutschland, or Wikimedia Österreich,
the deadline is end of the day UTC this coming Monday. Don't miss it!
