Hi there folks,

Just to let you know that there are now two courses available on WikiLearn about getting started with OpenRefine:

* OpenRefine for Wikidata - basics: https://learn.wiki/courses/course-v1:WikimediaFoundation+WMF_GLAM001+2024/about
* OpenRefine for Wikimedia Commons - basics: https://learn.wiki/courses/course-v1:Wikimedia-Foundation+WMF_GLAM001+2023/about

I've linked here to the English language versions; the Commons course already has a few different translations.

The production of these was supported by the Foundation's grant toward the OpenRefine product, including the Train the Trainer course that I attended over the last year, and I helped put together the Wikidata course.  OpenRefine is a big tool that can do some great things in terms of bulk edits and uploads, but it can be quite a lot to get your head around.  Hopefully these courses can help!

If you've not used WikiLearn before, it's a learning platform for the Wikimedia movement, and all you need to sign in or sign up is a Wikimedia account.  There are courses there on a variety of topics - it's still relatively early days, but I'm quite enthusiastic about the possibilities...

Best,
Sara
