Hi all,

I should also add that if you'd like to come to the strategy discussions at 4pm this Thursday, but costs are a barrier, let me know. We'll consider expenses if we agree your costs in advance.

Thank you!
Daria

Dear all

As I think most of you are aware I have been on maternity leave since the end of March (with my beautiful baby boy arriving on 5th April!), and Sandy Balfour has been the interim Chief Executive during that time. I returned to work a few weeks ago but am working part time hours (usually three days a week) until the New Year, when I'll be back full time.

I've enjoyed my first few weeks back but am still catching up on quite a lot of things, as I'm sure you'll appreciate. An important piece of work over the next few months is developing our new three year strategy from 1st February 2019 - 31st January 2022. I have done some initial work on this following a short discussion about our future strategic focus at July's AGM, a board away day in September, and staff discussions; however I'm keen to ensure that this also takes account of and reflects community concerns and priorities. With this in mind, I would like to invite interested volunteers/editors/members to Wikimedia UK's office on Thursday 13th December for a strategic planning discussion. This will be followed by some festive drinks/nibbles with staff and board (prior to a board meeting later that evening). The schedule will be:

4 - 5pm - strategy discussions
5 - 6pm - drinks and nibbles
6pm board meeting

I realise that some people may be interested in the chapter's future strategy but unable to attend the meeting in person, and will be in touch about other ways in which to contribute; however I wanted to get this date in people's diaries asap. Please can you email Katie.Crampton@wikimedia.org.uk to let her know if you will be attending one or both elements. There is no obligation to come to the meeting at 4pm in order to get a free drink at 5pm...but you are encouraged to do so!

All best wishes
Lucy
