Dear all,

I've just posted some thoughts on our wiki about how we can update some of our policies around Wikimedians in Residence and circumstances where we might need volunteers to make declarations of interest. Do let me know what you think, preferably on-wiki.

Just to follow this up: We need to make sure that we have thought about some aspects of governance around Wikimedians in Residence, volunteers holding formal delegated authority by sitting on committees, and how our work might fit with people running their own independent Wikimedia outreach projects without reference to Wikimedia UK. Probably the most significant point is that we think there might be some limited circumstances in which we need volunteers to tell us about other interests they have, to make sure that we are only spending our charitable funds in line with our Objects.

At the last meeting the Board thought about some principles I'd drafted, and indicated they were broadly happy with them. However we would certainly like more community comments before developing these into fully-fledged policies. Please do read and comment:

Many thanks,
