Falei agora mesmo com o João Miguel Vasconcelos que me disse que estava
interessado em ir a Berlim. Como ele nunca foi a nenhum evento da Wikimedia
e como tb faz parte da direção, acho que é importante que participe.

                       I'm delighted to be making my first
                       announcement to you as the Program Manager
                       for the upcoming Wikimedia Conference and
                       Chapters' Meeting 2012, which will be held
                       in Berlin on March 30th to April 1st, 2012.
                       Thursday, March 29th, will be an open day
                       without a formal schedule, which chapters
                       can use for any kind of meeting, sessions
                       and workshops in the conference venue
                       (which is TBA).

                       You may know me as a member of Wikimedia
                       Israel (currently its secretary) from
                       previous Wikimanias and other events, but
                       for this conference I'll be acting on
                       behalf of the conference host, Wikimedia
                       Deutschland.

                       Together we'll work to make this an
                       effective, useful and entertaining
                       conference for all attendees.
                       We're aiming for all 38 recognized
                       chapters and three promising
                       chapters-to-be to attend the conference.
                       Every chapter will be represented by two
                       people. We want to see some new faces, so
                       please strive to have at least one of them
                       be new to the chapters' conference and to
                       international Wikimedia meetings in general.

                       Our focus this year will be on introducing
                       new kinds of sessions and activities in
                       order to produce long-lasting and tangible
                       outcomes from this conference. More on
                       that from me later!

                       For now, however, we must start the
                       registration process, which also involves
                       chapter selecting their representatives.

                       IMPORTANT: The registration form is open
                       from today until February 5th, 2012 -
                       there will be no extension of time!
                       Because we need to arrange for visas,
                       travel, accommodation, food and so on, we
                       need to confirm all
                       participants no later than February 5th!!

                       Here is what you need to do in order to
                       register your chapter representatives to
                       the event:

                       1. If you are reading this as a chapter
                       board member or similar position, and you
                       can take it on yourself to make sure that
                       your chapter selects its representatives
                       in a timely manner and that they register
                       in due time:
