Dear Seyi,

Wikimedia Portugal (WMPT) has been practically dormant during the past two years, with no financial movements.

Some WMPT representatives have taken part in a couple of events, namely Iberoconf 2013 in Mexico City, but at the expenses of WMF and/or the local chapter hosting the event.

Meanwhile, at a recent general assembly, it was decided to try to revamp WMPT. We are now in the process of putting together a small group of people to present themselves as candidates to the board on a future electoral general assembly.

So, any help on financial reports would be extremely helpful in the future. But, answering your question, we have no quantitative data to show you referring to the period Jan-Dec 2013.

Please let me know if I can be of any help.

Regards,

Manuel de Sousa

Dear Wikimedia Portugal ,

I am Seyi, user Oolukoya (WMF), one of the WMF Finance Fellows. I am writing with regards to a project, my team and I are currently working. Our project was recently announced on Wikimedia-l; please follow the link below if you haven’t see the announcement to find out more about the project, give your comments and feedback.

In summary, the aim of this exercise is to help Chapters, Thematic Organizations, and the Wikimedia Foundation make financial data and statements more consistent across all Chapters, Thematic Organizations, and the Wikimedia Foundation, to the benefit of the whole movement. In order to get there, we will build on existing financial data sets (From January 2013 to December 2013) and reach out to Chapters and Thematic Organizations if further information is required. That being said, It is my pleasure and honor to work alongside your chapter to achieve the desired outcome.

In order to minimize possible burden on your chapter, I am working to gather and process available data from online sources. However, I will appreciate suggestions on possible locations/recommendations on where to look for quantitative data for the year Jan-Dec 2013, preferably in English for your chapter . So far, I have looked through your chapter’s website and page on Meta-Wiki.

Finally, I would like to thank you beforehand for your cooperation and support. If you have any questions regarding the project itself and you can’t find the answer on our meta page, I’ll gladly answer it. You can reach out to me at PDT time via email.

Warm Regards
