Hello guys,
Let me first start by congratulating Stephen in his efforts to finalize the 3rd and final phase of the Wikipedia for Schools project.
Secondly, I would like to urge the Nyeri team to prioritize those who haven't participated in the prior regions (such as Grace and Ann). I believe that these people should first be given an opportunity to go, before giving room to others who went to Kakamega and Mombasa.
Thirdly, I must say (and the Kakamega & Mombasa team leaders will agree with me on this) that we overspent in Kakamega and Mombasa at the unfortunate expense of Nyeri. This is due to a number of reasons including:
-the unfavourable bank exchange rate,
-Kakamega team increased cost of internal transport,
-Kakamega incresed cost of previsit,
-Mombasa increased cost of accommodation.
So, what do we do now? Oscar, Stephen and I are from having a discussion regarding the above. Taking our experiences from Mombasa and Kakamega, we all agreed that 6 people per school is a little too much. We have therefore proposed a cut from 6 people to 4 people. What are your thoughts?
PS -- Being the first time for us to budget, I do believe that it's not a really bad thing for us to overspend.
Regards,
