At Wikimania in London I discussed how nice it would be to include all the Indian calendars and by implication all the festivals past present and future.  From it I understand that there is no universal knowledge of such calendars and festivals.

One of the things that I gleaned from the conversation is that this is rather complicated, certainly a lot of work and it needs involvement from people who care about this subject. When such a project is adopted by people from India, we have this data available and we are more likely not to find such planning issues.
