Hi Srikanth,

This has been brewing a long time and we from Pune Community have tried mediation and reconciliation in order to develop a working relationship. Sadly, the attempts did not work due to difference in world views. In our opinion, fighting for our viewpoint to prevail was not constructive and we felt it better to give the Mumbai team a clear field so that they can go ahead unhindered by our difference in opinions. Believe me, we were wanting out more than two months ago but delayed till we were absolutely sure that there was no chance of things working out positively. I am sure Pranav and his team are working very hard and that the Conference will be a great success.

Warm regards,

Ashwin Baindur

Heya guys, you sent your message at the opportune moment. When we have
got to such a level, that we are hosting an international level event,
we should put our differences aside, and each individual community
should stick to each other and provide support. This kind of
fragmentation, that too, at this time, is silly, childish, stupid, and
among other things, downright selfish. Please reconsider your thoughts
and actions and let us make this even a grand success so that next
year Wikipedians all over would love to come to India.    -- Regards,
