Not sure of the OCR the participants worked on but Srinivasan's project git is here[1] and the license[2] (which is in GNU GPL v.2—and it is an amazing solution for many Wikisourcers. :)).

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but saw there was an OCR
application but it seems it wasn't open-source. There is/was no link
given at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiConference_India_2016/Chandigarh_Hackathon

Can somebody share more ?
