AFIK, there were two different efforts in parallel, one in Ahmedabad and the other in Bangalore, to setup the chapter.
But, both have become silent now.
Before even reaching out to the sponsor, could we please arrive at a consensus on the membership, structure, and location based on some reasonable criteria?

About time we woke up then. What is the next step that we need to take?

IIRC, Anirudh had spoken to some NGO ( was it CEE?) a while ago, and they were ready to sponsor the chapter. Is that right? Any idea if they might still be interested?

Hello everyone!

Been quite a long time since any discussion on setting up the Wikimedia India Chapter has taken place. We really need to put this on the fast track. What is the current status?
