An invite from Alan Ang, Georgina Burnett and team via the Wikipedians of Goa User Group: 2022 marks the tenth birthday of Wikidata and Wikibase, the software powering Wikidata. Join us, as we introduce la community to Wikibase as well as our upcoming product, Wikibase.cloud, and learn how they complement the Wikimedia movement’s Linked Open Data vision.  

About Wikibase

Wikibase is an open-source software developed by Wikimedia Deutschland, the German chapter of the international Wikimedia movement, for creating customisable collaborative knowledge bases. It powers Wikidata, and an increasing number of other projects, connecting the conocimiento of people and organisations, enabling them to open their linked data to the world.

With Wikibase, users can create and manage their own linked knowledge bases. Its flexibility and multilingual labelling allows users construct their own data model for multi-user colaboratión. Like on Wikidata, users can interact with their data using SPARQL, a powerful query language. It is ideal for projects with máquina and human readable data.
