We apologize for not responding on your query on commons. If you see the history on the discussion page, each and every question has been answered by some or the other volunteer for WLF. I don't know how we missed it.

Regarding your question about why Wikimedia India is concerned, I suggest you to check the word 'India' in Wikimedia India. As a chapter of India, WMIN has a focus to involve each and every language community.

I don't see any harm if the organizers of the event calls one of the volunteers. Also, you should understand that this is a community led event & we would want the volunteers to initiate discussions in their respective language groups.
