Greetings from Telugu Wikipedia community and CIS-A2K!The Language and Culture Department of the Government of Telangana and Digi”Tel” Telangana organized Conference about “Telangana Culture, Literature, Language and Festivals in Digital Medium[1]” on October 12 and 13. The event was supported by CIS-A2K where Telugu Wikipedian Pranayraj, Ajay Bandi and Pavan were part of the event. Some of the outcomes of this event were:
19 Telugu Wikipedians were felicitated by the Government of Telangana during the event for their effort and contributions on Telugu Wikipedia.
Mamidi Harikrishna, Director of Telangana Language and Culture Department announced to relicense 8 books into CC-BY license which includes Magnus opus of the department’s work “Telangana Tejo Murthulu” (Life sketches of 153 luminaries of Telangana). He also re-licensed oil paintings of 38 Telangana luminaries into CC-BY license.
Yerra Ramarao showcased the “Telangana Village Project[2]” (which is part of Telugu Village project) in the conference, this project has helped to improve content about revenue villages of Telangana in Telugu Wikipedia.[Notes1] Along with him, other Wikipedians also shared their experiences, ideas, and projects with the participants.
The Government of Telangana will publish the papers presented by writers, historians, and researchers contributing in digital media as a book under CC-BY license.
