//Having least number of eligible voter among the community was a major
challenge to the Indic candidates. Mean time in future indic community
support is mostly important.//
We are missing the larger perspective here.
All
three winning candidates and others who lost closely did not get those
votes because they came from some specific global region or promised to
do something if elected.
They got those votes for what they have already accomplished in the Wikimedia movement.
Even
if there are more eligible voters from India, one cannot assume they
will all vote for candidates from India because ultimately Wikimedia
ecosystem values meritocracy. All candidates from India have got more
votes than the number of eligible voters from India. So, it shows that
the world is willing to vote for us if we project the right candidates.
For
any candidate, if this is the first time the world is hearing about her
or him with no proven track record in the movement, the chances of
getting selected is zero.
