Hi Jayantilal,

Thanks for your mail and for  your concern.

First of all, I am not over-confident. I know about my own limitations very well. But, also I have complete trust in the organizing team, in which I am also part of. The team is working very hard to get every job done within schedule. Plus, I am not pushing Shrini for anything. I just said, we can manage and sort the images if they are uploaded for WLM, as almost every details has been planned thoroughly by the team. Of course, it is his choice to upload or not.

Secondly, regarding experience, no one is born with full experience right from the beginning. As Krishna rightly said in the previous mail, everybody has a "first time" to do things. Personally, I guess, I have been in the movement for quite a long time, but I am still learning everyday and gaining experience from any event or project, where I have been participating, that includes WLM also. I hope, the same is also true for the whole team.

Thirdly, I heard it from you for the first time that other affiliates have no interest in this competition. If that is so, then it is very unfortunate. But fact says otherwise. CIS-A2K is providing the prize money; WMIN members and community members have provided their inputs; CIS-A2K, Telugu community and others are working on the Wikidata entries of the monuments; maybe Telugu, Punjabi and Bengali communities will organize photo-walks soon; Tamil community has created their list of non-ASI monuments for photo-documentation this year etc.

Fourthly, we never claimed ownership of anything. I have no idea, what you are talking about. This year, no one came forward to actively organize the event in India till last week of July, so we decided to take the burden of organizing it, otherwise there could have been a high chance of India not participating this year. If someone came forward to organize it, then we could have concentrated on other priorities.

Best,
Bodhisattwa

Greetings Jayantilal,

It is good that Shrini is taking suggestions, and as far as I can see, Bodhi's comment is also a suggestion on what he thinks, but no pushing. Everybody has a "first time" to do things. However, I am sure that Bodhi, along with other Wikimedians, has enough experience and expertise to handle things.

Also there is no such thing as ownership for such matters. The community itself holds the ownership. Bodhi, and the rest of all who are there, are only the organizers, who are making things possible for WLM to happen in India. If you feel that something is going wrong about the project, please point that out, the organizers will be happy to correct that. It is not the case of same of set of people or an organization doing it every time. In 2016 it was organized by some, 2017 by different people, 2018 by a another set of Wikimedians, and next year, anyone can take the lead to organize. In the same way, this year these people have taken the lead.

Regards,
Krishna C V.

Thanks Srinivasan for sharing these pictures. Search for some library reference and you will be able to give name and description to the pictures.
It is good that Bodhisattva is confident but don't get over-confident also in anyway. Even uploader is taking suggestions here.
If you don't mind Bodhisattva can I ask what are your experiences in handling national level photography competition? Why are other affiliate also not interested in this competition? Why ownership limited to two? Where is Telugu, CIS & WMIN?

I have processed around 350 photos and added to a flickr album

Will add remaining on around 10-15 days.

Hope we can move to commons from flickr.

There may be few duplicates.
Will do more filtering before sending to commons.

Share your thoughts on is it okey to send these kind of pics to commons.

I am still wondering on how to give name and descriptions to all of
these,as I dont know the names.
