The version of Android available on the tablet could be a hindrance to
display/render/input of Indic.

Samsung Ace and few other models of smart phones are able to render most spoken Indic languages. Hopefully, other vendors will also start to support indic soon and Akash tablet will have enough computing power to deal with indic while supporting all other functionality.
