Hoi,
There is a difference between a transliteration script and an alternate input method.

In an alternate inputmethod you select characters from the screen. In my understanding something like an transliteration script is what Bellayet is using..
Thanks,

PS I cc to Hampton as he is the guy who has to understand this :)

Hi Gerard,

We (Malayalam Wikipedians) have asked about this some time back. Please see a discussion regarding that here http://usability.wikimedia.org/wiki/Toolbar#Malayalam_transliteration_Script

Hoi,
I blogged about an issue that Bellayet introduced me to. He has to enter in latin script data to trigger the search box on the http://be.m.wikipedia.org .. As I can imagine that this is also an issue for other languages of the Indian subcontinent, I would like you to consider providing us with the Unicode characters that are used for your language in the order you know them by.

This should provide you improved support in the "advanced toolbar" and also (this is my expectation) for the mobile interface.
Thanks,
