Sunil,

You are right. All the internal processes for dissolution have been completed. A few formalities remain to be completed before the sub-registrar and I hope that will be done in the next couple of months. I understand, and our tax consultants have confirmed this, the trust has had no activity (financial or otherwise) or income since inception and consequently no audit was conducted or required.

Rahul

Dear Ravi,

Rahul Matthan of Trilegal will be able to answer you question regarding
the dissolution of the trust. He was the second trustee and has all the
paper work related to the trust.

>From what I know - we never opened any bank accounts or make any
financial transactions in terms of receiving income or making payments.
Nor did the trust hire anyone or conduct any activities. From what I
understand you cannot audit finances if there has been no financial
transactions.

In other words, after the trust was registered - we did not do anything
further with the trust. But Rahul can confirm this.

Best wishes,

Sunil

could you please let the Wikimedia India community know:

* What is the current status of the trust ?

It was declared in July 2012 that the trust will be dissolved

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/India_Program/India_Program_Announcement_and_FAQ_-_30_July_2012#What_will_happen_to_Wikimedia_India_Programme_Trust

* Where can we find independently audited financial statements of the
trust as promised in the CIS blog post?

I am copying this mail to Wikimedia India mailing list, Grants team
