Hi,

I got this email a few days ago. You may want to participate in this. Open to Indic languages as well.

Warm regards,
Pradeep

Subject: Help, please, with Wikipedia Voice Intro Project
To: Pradeep Mohandas <pradeep@wikimedia.in>

Hi Pradeep,

I am writing to ask WikimediaIN to support a project I started:

   http://pigsonthewing.org.uk/open-licensed-format-recordings-voices-wikipedia-wikimedia-commons/

  http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Voice_intro_project

In case you're not familiar with it, we ask the subjects of Wikipedia
articles to record short (typically 10 seconds) of audio of their
spoken voice, to go on the Wikipedia articles about them.
Multi-lingual subjects can contribute in each of the languages in
which they feel confident (separate files; or one long file with
pauses, so that we can divide it)

Your chapter can help in three ways:

   *   Publicise the project to your members and other Wikimedians

   *   Use your contact with Wikipedia subjects to ask them to
contribute (maybe in the press, or by writing to your parliamentary
authorities, actors'/ musicians' union, etc.)

   *   Find a volunteer to translate the Commons project page into
Indian languages, and put up a page, like
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Voice_intro_project>, on the
relevant Wikipedias.

May I count on your support, please? Do let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes,
