Hi,

We are passionate group of Wikipedians in Pune, periodically we conduct Wikipedia outreach events in city.


Background of Wikipedia Club Pune -

On January 15th 2012, We started Wikipedia Club Pune - independent Club in Pune,India which is first ever <<active>> Wikipedia Club outside United States of America.

Our Facebook Page is already having highest likes. (It is highly followed page 'after' main Wikipedia page)
 
Over period of time, we started conducting various Workshops.
Outreach events were mainly focused on bridging gendergap and increasing participation in Indic Language Wikipedia.

1) 11th Anniversary Celebration :

Club was started with two days workshop on 14th and 15th January 2012.
50 Wikipedians were present for Club launch.

2)Women Engineering College Outreach :

First major outreach was done at Cummins College of Engineering for Women

More than 50+ 'women' participated in this outreach

3)In-between major outreach sessions :

We were hosting periodic small meetups and events to promote editing.  

Including Republic Day editing workshop, where articles related to India were developed.

4)Wikipedia Takes Pune :

Wikipedia Takes Pune was one day event where 100+ photographers donated 6,500+ photos in one day (which is biggest photowalk in history of Wikipedia)
Within first 5 hours only, we collected 5,000 photos.

5)WikiWomenDay :

What Next?

We will be focusing specifically on developing content on Marathi Wikipedia, specially health related articles.Also we are ambitious about spoken-wikipedia project.
