Hopeless! So adamant!!

It should come from you directly, how long it ll take to visit 20 or so VPs and drop the same message?

I know, you're not used to it, but you should. Do it yourself, get your men on-wiki.

Thanks for the heads up Arjuna and Vishwa. I hope at least now A2K will take this seriously!

I've been meaning to tell the same again as I had already told the same when i met Vishnu and Subha in CIS few days back.
It may not help getting you a better consultant, still you should notify all the language communities on-wiki. I think many are not subscribed, and many don't follow up regularly.

Vishnu, just calling and meeting volunteers is not going to help you or the community much unless you consider their views.

It's been a while I'm emphasizing on on-wiki notification and communication, but it doesn't seem you care much.
Is it so because i'm telling ? Should i just shut up ? You can tell me on my face.

It would be much effective if the same message is also broadcast to all community village pumps as well as any social networking groups where communities are gathering.

The Centre for Internet and Society's Access to Knowledge (CIS-A2K) Program invites applications from experienced Wikimedia community members for a short-term assignment as a 'Community Communications Consultant'. The duration of this assignment is for 3 months. The consultant will work with the CIS-A2K team and report to the Program Director CIS-A2K.

Profile:

An ideal candidate should:

a) have been a Wikimedian for more than a year.

b) have good understanding of and contribution on Wikipedia, Wikisource, Wiktionary and Wikimedia Commons projects.

c) have links with at least 5 Indian language Wikimedia community members

--cut--

I have not seen this being announced on the language wikis or  email lists. There may be people who may have most skills but may not be active on English mailing list and you may be missing them.

Cheers
Arjuna
