Hi Parul, Manav and Subhashish,

Thank you for showing interest.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of Wikipedia Asia Month. It's okay if it can't be a month long event. As said, we will definitely organise an offline Editathon in Delhi in November as part of our monthly Wikipedia editathons and I'd love if more and more people can join in especially from Indic language communities.

I will post more updates closer to the event.

Cheers,
Japleen

Dear All,

I am here to inform you that Indic-TechCom had got its second request to create a javascript to create the floatable editing button[1]. The community members also mentioned that this tool may help them to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome. This script will give you an extra icon on the top right after adding the js and two more extra buttons to save and preview in editing mode[2]. So, that editor can reduce the amount of time spent in scoring the page.

Subject: [Wikimediaindia-l] Women's World Boxing Championship 2018
Hello,

I recently saw an email from Odia Wikimedia that they are organising month long editathons for Men's Hockey World Cup. This is a great initiative!

And also gave me the idea to do something similar in November. As many of you may know Delhi will host the Women's World Boxing Championship from 15 - 24 November.

Could we all hold online and offline events around this topic editing and creating pages of women boxers etc across several Indic languages.

I will definitely organise one Wikipedia editathon in Delhi in November on this topic and would love if other people can join us and/or organise their own in their language communities.

Tito/CIS, can we get some help for this?

Let me know your thoughts.

Best,
Japleen

Great going, Japleen. It would be amazing if you can organize this. There are two-three Odia Wikimedians (they are more active on Wikisource but I hope they would be interested to join you as well), and there are some Hindi and Punjabi Wikimedians that are based there. If al goes well, it would probably become a multilingual editathon.

Sounds great! I’m always open to join an online edit-a-thon and contribute.

November is also the Wikipedia Asia Month. Isn’t it?

Thanks!

Hi
The idea is good...but in November we have Wikipedia asian month and ideally it isn't advisable to have different events at the same time. But ciz we have wikimedians with different interests, this might be of interest to some. We can also try having some offline events specifically related to the theme rather than running a month long edit a thon.
Count me in.
