I think the discussion has gone off on a bit of a tangent here.

As far as the hospitality (or lack of it) goes, its not that big a deal and certainly does not deter me from conducting any academies in the future. (and it shouldn't deter Srikanth as well)

That being said we should not overlook the fact that the 2 hour session was cut short to a paltry 1 hour (with interruptions in between) because

a. The organizers arrived late.
We were told the session would start at 9 and we there on time. The crowd trickled in by 9.30 and the organizers shortly after that.

b. The internet wasn't working
which is why we had to wait for the organizers. By the time the issue was solved, it was 10 am.

c. One of the main sponsors (Temenos, for those who might be interested) had to give a presentation. Hence the organizers cut short the wikiAcademy to fit that presentation in.

Thus we were forced to wind up by 11.10am. Which is hardly sufficient for even an introductory session.

I think we all can agree that it isn't easy at all for a speaker with a set presentation, to adjust to this sort of sudden change. IMHO, Srikanth handled it well but few things were out of our hand.

Cheers!

Hey Srikanth,
Let's start fresh. I think you put in tremendous effort and it is a shame that you put in so much of work and call it a great fiasco. In my humble opinion, every experience is good to learn. I was simply asking you to concentrate more on the session and tell us what was good and bad about it. This will provide interesting insights and help us avoid more unpleasant experience.
I am sorry if I sounded rude. All I wanted to know is whether the fest was a fiasco or the interaction in the session. And I hope you don't stop doing this work in the future.
Cheers

An MoU is a Memorandum of Understanding, not Memorandum of Agreement.
It's not a binding contract. Hence it was informal. Also, wasn't it me
who told Nitika and Naveen bout the Mou in the first place? Makes it
my fault. We should've said no at that point itself. I'll stay away
till such time I earn a Laptop so I can follow Bala's practical
methods.
