Hi Nicolas,
Thanks for your reply and interest in the partnership.
It was discussed during the Delhi meeting that as a first step, NDLI will
come up with a unique authority control for the authors listed in their
website and we will match them with corresponding Wikidata items, thus
starting to link Wikidata content with NDLI website. The process was
expected to initiate from January, but due to some other other commitments
from NDLI as a government agency, it has not been started yet.
As a major part of this partnership will largely depend on the data model
stated in Wikidata WikiProject Books
<https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_Books>, we need works
and their editions on different Wikisource projects properly linked with
Wikidata exactly following the data model. For Indian language Wikisources,
I can say, the linkages are still very low. It would be great, if we can
collaboratively engage as many as Wikisource communities as possible to
start linking their contents on Wikidata. We definitely need suggestions
and all kinds of help there organizing this.
We appreciate if highly experienced community members like you share inputs
and insight w.r.t. this collaboration. Please feel free to do so
pro-actively at any time.
Regards,
Bodhisattwa

Dear Wikimedians,
Thank you for your patience. With careful consideration of the ongoing COVID-19
pandemic <https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/summary.html>, we have
made a decision to cancel the physical WikiCite Satellite New Delhi. We are
in contact with the Wikimedia Foundation, they support this decision and
are ready and flexible to support any follow-up actions. We will shift the
format of the conference to online discussions and presentations and will
be postponing this virtual event to the next month. The format and the
dates of this virtual event would be determined by the Program Committee in
collaboration with presenters.
We are disappointed that we won’t be able to collaborate in person but the
safety of the conference participants is our highest priority and we look
forward to engaging with you in our virtual program. We will be in touch
soon with further plans and next steps for participating.
Thank you for your understanding. Please direct any questions to
info(a)openheritagefoundation.org.

Hello all,
This is for your information, that West Bengal Wikimedians User Group will
not be organizing and/or supporting any offline Wikimedia activities and
projects till 15th September, 2020, (or until further notice) due to the
recent COVID-19 pandemic. This decision from the side of the user group was
taken as the user group primarily runs on WMF funds through rapid grants as
of now and WMF has decided
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Resources/COVID-19_Notice> to
not provide grants for any offline events until the said date. This means,
apart from our regular plans for meetups and workshops, we are also
suspending our Wiki Exploration, Documenting City Heritage and upcoming
GLAM plans and activities. We have informed our community leads who were
organizing and/or planning such events and they have all welcomed the
decision.
We will however organize and support online activities, as usual.
Currently, we have asked our community members to come up with their
proposals, which we can support in coming days. Requests can be done here
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/West_Bengal_Wikimedians/Requests>.
We thank WMF for taking the tough but necessary decision. Needless to say,
the decision has affected all our future plans, like many other affiliates,
but considering the safety and health of our extremely valuable volunteer
contributors, we heartily welcome this decision and will fully abide by it.
Regards,
Bodhisattwa

empowering rural youth for the last 30+ years. The organisation has taken
initiative to develop dedicated Wiki cell of women at Pabal. You can see

Subject: [Wikimedia-l] Launch of Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal
To: Wikimedia Mailing List <wikimedia-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
TL;DR: Launch of Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal
We are launching a new form-based annual reporting system for Wikimedia
affiliates [1], as well as a basic Affiliates data query system. We would
love your feedback.

Hello, Affiliate Leaders & Community Members,
Tired of the affiliate reports [2] wiki table of death? SO are we!
The Learning & Evaluation team is pleased to announce the launch of the
Wikimedia Affiliates Data (WAD) Portal [1]. This portal will serve three
purposes as follows:
1. It introduces a new Object-Oriented User Interface (OOUI) [3]
form-based report submission interface for annual activity and financial
reports. This replaces the wiki mark-up based submission via the
[[Reports]] page on meta.
2. It introduces the ability for Organizations to update their
information using OOUI forms on the fly.
3. It introduces a new simple data query form that allows anyone
logged-in to their public wiki accounts to run a query and view results
on
available Affiliates data. The query tool will be improved in the coming
financial year, as we work to code data in Affiliate reports into
structured data, to allow for richer analysis.
The [[Reports]] page on meta will continue to be visible on meta until the
end of June 2020, after which it will be protected and archived. All
organizations that are due to submit annual reports at the end of March are
encouraged to use the new report submission forms. If you do use the new
forms, please share any feedback you have about this new process on the
Portal’s talk page
We will hold training seminars for those who wish to be onboarded to the
submission forms and the Query system during the months of March and April
2020 (Dates will be communicated soon).
We have taken time to pre-populate the system with basic information about
each recognized Wikimedia affiliate, however, should you find any incorrect
or outdated information about your group, please use the organization
information page[4] to provide updated information.
We trust that you will enjoy the new portal and that you will find it
useful. Should you have any problems or encounter bugs in the new forms,
please use the Portal talk page [5] to log these, or to simply ask
questions. We will collect similar questions to create an FAQ page in due
time.
Kindest regards

Hi all,
This is for your information, that we have submitted the rapid grant report
of West Bengal Wikimedians User Group few hours back. The grant was
requested to conduct the user group activities for a whole year.
The grant proposal is here -
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/WBG/Annual_Plan_2019-20
The report is here -
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/WBG/Annual_Plan_2019-2…
We have spent just around 1 lakh 8 thousand rupees for our whole year
activity and we still have around Rs. 33,000 with us which are still not
spent due to various reasons. We have requested rapid grants team to use
that money for our future activities.
This year, before asking for rapid grants, we asked the community members
to come up with the projects, which they want to execute and need support.
It was a bottom-up decentralized approach in a mini-scale and we can say,
it went well. We learned a lot while exploring this approach and we will
try to make it better next time.
The user group has been working on documenting under-represented and
previously undocumented cultural and structural heritage for last 3 years
in an organized way. This year, our major spending was around Rs. 70,000 to
document around 272 heritage structures in 5 districts of West Bengal
through our Wiki Exploration Program. Other than that, we have spent money
on 1 Wiki Takes, 1 Documenting City Heritage, 5 meetups including AGM of
the user group, 1 workshop, 1 unofficial GLAM and content donation of 1
author. Prizes for Rabindranath Month Proofreading Contest on Bengali
Wikisource and Wiki Loves Monuments were taken care by CIS-A2K, so that
didn't came under Rapid Grant. This year, we couldn't work on documenting
museums, for next year there are plans already.
Like before, we have tried to do effective projects optimally with our
limited resources. The user group was very meticulous in planning the
projects keeping in mind about the value of donation money, involving
community members of the West Bengal who actively participated in every
steps. Needless to say, as always, we didn't compromise on participant
safety and comfort, without over-spending a single rupee for luxury.
We have also maintained utmost transparency, as previous years. Our on-wiki
event pages have a section on financial reports with detailed budget
breakdown.
Regards,
Bodhisattwa
