A chairde,
We are delighted to share details of an exciting collaboration we have been working on; our upcoming Wiki Loves Pride 2026 event and we would love to see you there.
On Friday 19 June, Wikimedia Community Ireland is hosting OUT of the Archive + Into the Record at the National Library of Ireland https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/out-of-the-archive-into-the-record-wiki-loves-pride-at-the-nli-iqa-tickets-1989845153419, on Kildare Street Dublin 2 in partnership with the NLI and the Irish Queer Archive. This is a free, full-day public event bringing people together to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Irish LGBTQ+ history.
Irish queer history is still missing on Wikipedia. This day is about changing that.
The day includes talks from historians and archivists on Irish LGBT history, access to selected NLI special collections, lunch provided, a hands-on Wikipedia editing workshop, and a community meitheal editing marathon with live impact tracking. There is also an optional Dublin queer history photo walk and scavenger hunt, with photos entered into the Wiki Loves Pride 2026 Photo Competition running June through August.
No Wikipedia editing experience needed. Everyone is welcome. For our community and the NLI team registration opens early, and you can do so with the details below.
Register here: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/out-of-the-archive-into-the-record-wiki-loves-pr...
Use code WLPDUBLIN2026 to access early registration before the event opens to the general public on 22 May. Spaces are limited - book early to avoid FOMO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_of_missing_out.
Please review the accessibility information and FAQs on the Eventbrite listing before registering as part of the event is unfortunately not wheelcahir accessible.
Le meas,
