Chapter Status-It was agreed by the group that we should begin the process of becoming a chapter. EE will begin researching the requirements and craft an email to the Affiliations Committee. -
Survey-RO will begin working on the survey in October for a release in November. She will present a draft to the group when it is completed.
Edit-a-thons
-
Year of Irish Design-Event is confirmed for Saturday 10 October at 10am. The venue is not yet confirmed, but it will be in the city centre. RO, SE, OM, and SF will attend. -
UCD-Intro to Wikipedia on 7 October 10-11am. Edit-a-thon 28 October 10-11am.

The launch on Saturday went very well. In the first week of the contest we had 537 images uploaded by 114 users, a huge jump from last year. -
PR-we got a lot of press including an article on the.journal.ie which cause a big spike in uploads. We still have 1 hour of PR work which we will use to cover the winners at the end of October. -
The WMF grant is still pending. -
We have three judges. SE is waiting on bios to post to the website. -
A member of the volunteer Derry Walls group asked for their monument to be included in the contest. It was agreed that SE will notify them that as part of the UK we can’t include them this year but if Wikimedia UK doesn’t run the contest next year, we will look into including them. -
RO created the Ireland Portal on Commons.
Other Events

SG Event-16 September 6:30-8pm-EE reached out to Open Knowledge Ireland about arranging speakers. They agreed to co-host the event. RO will confirm the date/time with the Science Gallery. Once that is completed EE will create a meetup event, create a press release, and create a list of groups to target. -
Open Knowledge Ireland is also looking to collaborate on a hack-a-thon to improve the pages of Ireland hospitals. We are considering this to coincide with out Science Gallery Trauma event in February.
