Wiki Loves Monuments 2021 in Ireland is now open for uploads! Why not use our interactive map to find all those very special buildings off the beaten track in your local area? There are lots of structures waiting for their first image, a more recent image, or an image that shows it off in the best possible light!
Again this year we are awarding a special prize for a photograph of the most challenging, remote, or obscure structure uploaded to the competition. We will also be awarding an extra prize for each province of the best photo uploaded for a site that had no photo before.
Upload from 1 to 30 September to win prizes!
Wiki Loves Earth
We are delighted to announce the winners from Ireland's first Wiki Loves Earth, which you can see here. These images have been submitted to the international competition and we wish them good luck!
Virtual events
We have moved our monthly editing events in TOG Hackerspace online to Discord, so join us on Wednesday 29 September from 7-9pm. You can learn about Wikipedia, as well as Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata and all the other sister projects. RSVP on Meetup to get the link to the TOG Discord server.
To get a reminder about this and other upcoming events sign up on the TOG Meetup page, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
Get involved!
If you, your group, or organisation want to run a virtual Wikimedia workshop, we can provide a Zoom space in which we can hold an editing or other workshop for you and your colleagues.
Or if you would like to attend our monthly online meetings, one the second Monday of the month from 7pm, get in touch at wikimediaireland[at]gmail.com
Twitch Wikipedia editing at lunchtime
Rebecca is continuing her twice weekly Twitch Wikipedia editing live stream every Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime, exploring the wider world of Wikipedia. As always, if you have anything you'd like covered during the streams, or have any questions or queries, let her know!
