To celebrate Ireland's third annual Internet Day, IEDR is hosting an evening with Wikipedia founder, Jimmy Wales. The l ast remaining tickets for the event are currently on sale for €15.

Jimmy Wales was on The Pat Kenny Show on Monday morning discussing the threats to online knowledge-sharing and his mission to combat the rise of ‘fake news’ with evidence-based journalism via his new site WikiTRIBUNE. Launching later this year, WikiTRIBUNE is a collaborative online news publication that allows professional journalists and volunteers to work side by side, co-researching and co-writing articles together. Mr Wales will be discussing this and more at Ireland's Internet Day. The event will be moderated by Adrian Weckler (Technology Editor at the Irish Independent) and will also include a Q&A session where Jimmy Wales will answer selected questions from the audience via Twitter.
