Happy New Year everyone!

Wiki Loves Folklore

Wiki Loves Folklore is a photography, video and audio recording competition that runs throughout February that celebrates the rich cultural diversity of people all across the world from music and dance to food and dress. This year, alongside the international competition we will be awarding prizes for the best Irish entries. Find all the details here, and upload from 1 February to win! All entries from Ireland will be automatically included in both competitions.

There is also a writing competition, Feminism and Folklore, which runs all February and March on English language Wikipedia, and is open to all to contribute. We are running a local competition on Vicipéid during the same period, with prizes for those who write the best or most interesting articles relating to the topics of An Feimineachas agus an Béaloideas, all the details can be found here.

We have moved our monthly editing events in TOG Hackerspace online to Discord, so join us on Wednesday 27 January from 7-9pm when we will be celebrating Wikipedia's 20th birthday! Not only can you learn about Wikipedia, but also Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata and all the other sister projects. RSVP on Meetup to get the link to the TOG Discord server.

To get a reminder about this and other upcoming events sign up on the TOG Meetup page, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
