Wiki Loves Monuments 2018

This year's Irish Wiki Loves Monuments is in full swing! Ireland is one of over 40 countries taking part across the world. There are prizes to be won for the top 10 images from Ireland, with the top prize €350 euro. There are over 6000 structures across Ireland waiting to have their photo taken, so take advantage of the bit of sun we have and hunt out your local heritage sites! All the details can be found here.

Ada Lovelace Day

We are partnering with Lovelace Space to celebrate 2018's Ada Lovelace Day with an evening of workshops in the Digital Hub on Wednesday 10 October from 6:30-9pm. You can find all details and links for tickets here.

Editing events in TOG Hackerspace

We will be continuing our monthly editing events in TOG Hackerspace on Wednesday 26 September from 7-9pm. Whether you are new to Wikipedia or an old hand at editing, come along for a chat with fellow Wikimedians! All you need is a laptop, WiFi and pizza will be provided!

To get a reminder about this and other upcoming event sign up on the TOG Meetup page, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

Octocon

If you were thinking about attending this year's Octocon, or are interested in Science Fiction and Fantasy, a number of Wikipedians are hosting an editing workshop this year: So You Want to Be a Wiki Editor. The convention is taking place from 19 to 21 October in the Crowne Plaze Hotel, Blanchardstown. You can find all the details about the event and the conference here.

Wiki Science

The photo and image competition, Wiki Science, is returning to Ireland this November. If you want to get involved in the organisation, want to sponsor or help promote the event this year do get in touch. You can see last year's winning images here.

Getting Involved!

Is there an event you think Wikimedia Community Ireland should get involved in, or should look at organising? Do you have idea for an event or campaign you'd like to work on with us? Or have any other good ideas, then get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!
