EE looked into loading CiviCRM to the Wordpress site-Wordpress needs to be updated and he’s not sure if the Wiki Loves Monuments theme will work with an upgrade. It was decided to wait until the completion of the contest to load it

Wiki Loves Monuments

There was a total of 31 monuments in the semi-final round. The judges are due to return their final 10 by Friday 24 October

As minister Humphrey’s can’t attend it was decided that Jan O’Sullivan, Minister for Education, will be invited. EE will craft and send the invite

Upon completion of the contest SE will do some work on the monuments list and start to create a list of tasks for next year’s competition. Once the list is complete it will be put on the Meta page to encourage volunteers

Edit-a-thons/Training

NUIG Event-7 November 9:00-13:00. This will be a combination training/edit-a-thon on both English Wikipedia and Vicipéid. EE, SE, OM, and SF will be attending. We will suggest topics around National Monuments and the Wiki Projects pages for the participants to work on.

Collins Barracks Event-Saturday 25 October 10:00-5:30. We are not able to speak at this event but RO will attend to fly the Wikimedia Ireland banner and make some contacts about future edit-a-thons. SE will also try to attend

We were contacted by Fabian Tompsett from Wikimedia UK about organising an edit-a-thon in Northern Ireland. He joined our call to discuss it. RO will reach out to her connection in some of the Universities in NI as well as through Royal Irish Academy. CM and SE will look into anniversaries of events beginning in mid-January 2015 that we could build an edit-a-thon around. SE and EE will speak to Fabian at training event in Edinburgh in November

SF will be attending EduWiki in Edinburgh on 31 October. SE, EE, and Roy Murray are attending the Train the Trainers event in Edinburgh 1-2 November. SE will meet with the Wikipedian in Residence at National Library of Scotland to discuss implementing the program here. RO suggested we might start with smaller museums before approaching the larger ones
