Wiki Loves Monuments 2020

Wiki Loves Monuments 2020 in Ireland is now open for uploads! Why not use our interactive map to find all those very special buildings off the beaten track in your local area? Every red marker is a site waiting for an image - and 60% of our listed structures are still waiting to have a photo uploaded for the very first time. You can be a pioneer and help piece together a full open source photography archive of Ireland's built heritage, and win prizes!

This year we are awarding a special prize for a photograph of the most challenging, remote, or obscure structure uploaded to the competition. We will also be awarding an extra prize for each province of the best photo uploaded for a site that had no photo before.

Upload from 1 to 30 September to win prizes!

Wiki Loves Earth

We are delighted to announce the winners from Ireland's first Wiki Loves Earth, which you can see here. These images have been submitted to the international competition and we wish them good luck!

Virtual events

With current guidelines from the Irish government, we will not be hosting any in-person workshops for the foreseeable future. If you, your group or organistion want to run a virtual Wikimedia workshop, we can provide a Zoom space in which we can hold an editing or other workshop for you and your colleagues. Do get in touch at wikimediaireland[at]gmail.com

Twitch Wikipedia editing at lunchtime

Rebecca will be restarting her twice weekly Twitch Wikipedia editing live stream from Tuesday 8 September, at the new time of 1pm! She will be online every Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime, exploring the wider world of Wikipedia. As always, if you have anything you'd like covered during the streams, or have any questions or queries, do get in touch!
