Subject: [Chapters] Possible agreement between Wikimedia Italia and Società
Geografica Italiana
To: chapters(a)wikimedia.ch, "Local Chapters, board and officers coordination
(closed subscription)" <internal-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Dear all,
recently Wikimedia Italia has been talking extensively to the Italian
Geographic Society
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Societ%C3%A0_Geografica_Italiana about the
possibility of scanning part or the totality of their huge archive of old,
public domain books, in order to be put on wikisource. We would like to
reach an agreement with them similar to the one between Wikimedia France and
the Vet School of Toulouse (as in
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Allard_-_Des_causes_de_l%E2%80%99inf…)
or the one between Wikimedia DE and the Bundesarchiv, so we're asking
some
advice from these two chapters or anyone else who has been involved in
agreement with public archives about the best way to ask, what to offer, and
so on.
Thanks a lot in advance
Marco Chiesa (aka Cruccone)
