Hello Australian and GLAMtools lists, I read today on the Creative Commons Australia blog that CSIRIO's ScienceImage library has been re-licensed to CC-BY: http://creativecommons.org.au/blog/2014/04/csiro-releases-scienceimage-arch… non-Australians CSIRO is our national science/research institute]. This is a fabulous series of images, nearly all of which are useful in WP articles as they are taken for 'scientific' purposes which means they are easily usable as educational images. Women of Science Wikibomb event in Canberra, August 14

Hi all, Posting some information about a free event which may interest Australian Wikimedians. The Australian Academy of Science is running an editathon in Canberra on August 14 to boost the coverage of female Australian Scientists on Wikipedia. For those not in Canberra, there is the option to participate online as well. It was covered in The Age on Sunday[1], and registrations close this Friday[2]. Whilst Wikimedia Australia is looking at sending somebody as an official point of contact, I'd strongly encourage experienced and new editors alike to get involved with this valuable initiative. Wiki meetup in Sydney this Sunday, for WNWBL matches, and probably WikiWednesday next week

Hi, Hawkeye7 and I will be at the WNWBL matches in North Sydney this Saturday and Sunday, and we welcome the locals to come along. ;-) Please sign up here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Sydney/July_2014 Entry is free, and Tony Naar has booked the board room at the venue and organised Internet access for us from 3-6 PM on Sunday for us to chat, write articles, etc and .. whatever. We're also planning a WikiWednesday at the Australian Paralympic Committee HQ (Sydney Olympic Park) on next Wednesday the 23rd, where we will be talking mostly about Wikipedia coverage of Para Sports at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which may have commenced depending on timezone. Hi all, Could we please get some further information on the Freopedia map[1] from the Committee of WMAU, or those involved in Freopedia. I would like to upload this map to Commons, and although I can see the Freopedia and Wikimedia Australia logos on the map, I can't find any licencing information. Information appreciated.
