The event is sponsored by [http://www.eagle-network.eu/ EAGLE (Europeana network of Ancient Greek and Latin Epigraphy)] and Wikimedia Italia, with the support of the Special Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Rome, and is intended to deepen the discussion on how the most advanced technologies can foster new mode of communication and promotion of cultural heritage.
On the same occasion will be announced the winners of the EAGLE special award for [http://www.wikilovesmonuments.it/ Wiki Loves Monuments Italia 2013]; recognition will go to the best photography of inscriptions in one of the monuments participating in the competition. The ultimate aim is to highlight the intrinsic value of witness to the epigraphs and give them their well-deserved visibility.
