Hello everyone,
We’re excited to share our 2024 Annual Report, highlighting what we’ve
achieved together with our volunteer community in Germany and worldwide.
We are all in this together: In times when populism is gaining strength
worldwide, misinformation is spreading unhindered on the internet, and
Wikipedia is also coming under political pressure, our movement
organizations' commitment to free knowledge is more important than
ever. Over the past year, Wikimedia Deutschland launched impactful
projects, engaged globally to promote our mission, and accomplished a lot
together.
Some highlights from 2024:
* Successful first German-language Wikipedia Future Congress in Nuremberg
* New AI project supporting open-source teams on Wikidata
* Ten recommendations for open AI in education
* 20th anniversary and new Strategic Framework 2030
* Focus on “Wiki Loves Democracy” in GLAM
* New team supporting community conflicts and well-being
* re·shape funding program’s second round with 10 projects
* Record results in the funding barometer
* Introduction of the new Wikimedia Playbook
Wikimedia Deutschland has been shaping the future of free knowledge for
over 20 years, supported by 111,000+ members and hundreds of thousands of
donors.
We invite you to explore the report and enjoy the read!
