Hi Wiki-Yorkers,

You're invited to help us improve Wikipedia articles on Black history and culture- new contributors and voices are especially encouraged to join!

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library, working with the AfroCROWD initiative, is hosting a successor to last year's Black Life Matters Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, to contribute to articles on Wikipedia for the national Black WikiHistory Month outreach campaign.

Event: 'Black Life Matters' Wikipedia Edit-a-thon @ NYPL Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture

Date: Saturday February 6th, 2015

Address: 515 Malcolm X Boulevard (Lenox Avenue) between West 135th and 136th Streets, Harlem, New York

Time: 12 noon-5 pm (drop-in any time!)

A reception will follow the event at 5 pm.

The Wikipedia training and Edit-a-thon will take place in the Aaron Douglas Reading Room of the Jean Blackwell Hutson Research and Reference Division, with a following reception in the Langston Hughes lobby on the first floor of the building.

In addition to new people, we also need some volunteers to help with hands-on training during the event!
