You might find the folks at BetaNYC are interested http://betanyc.us  They are data fiends.

One place that pretty freely offers spec is TurnToTech 23rd and 5th Ave, another is Thoughtworks.

Hi All,

I was talking to another today about interest in setting up a WikiData learning event in Manhattan, where the entire focus is on educating ourselves and each other about the possible uses of WikiData.

WikiData was a big focus of the tech track at Wikimania, and among the murmurings of most other sessions.

I think we could use some sort of informal meetup where we can all learn better ways of using it, and perhaps also what kinds of projects we can suggest it to. For me, I want to start talking to GLAMs about it, but I don't know a lot of use cases of institutions doing so (yet!)

Anyone else have interest? Perhaps we could do this meetup somewhere in lower Manhattan (WiFi a necessity!)

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Dorothy
