Hi everybody,
Thank you to everybody who attended the “Country Music’s Mythology” editathon [1] last week — we had a great time with 23 attendees, several organizers, special guest Rissi Palmer, discussions of the issue and playlist, an editing demo from me [2], lots of tacos and banana pudding, and enough time to create one new article, update three more, and add 977 more words and 28 (!) references to Wikipedia! That’s amazing!
We’re planning a follow-up virtual editathon on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm — exactly four weeks after the original event. I’ll set up a signup page for this event in a day or two, and I'll let y’all know on this mailing list once it’s ready for registration. Our idea is to meet on Zoom and use the same list of pages that need improvement from the first event page [1]. Experienced editors will be present to help you edit if you need help, or you can just edit by yourself. If you have any suggestions for this event, please send them to us so we can incorporate them before preparing the event page!
If you signed up for our mailing list on our signup sheet at the event last week, you’ll receive this email (as well as future events going forward). If you didn’t mean to do that or have changed your mind, you can unsubscribe yourself on the mailing list website [3] or e-mail me directly at gaurav@ggvaidya.com mailto:gaurav@ggvaidya.com for help.
Our next monthly meeting will be in two weeks on Tuesday, April 14 from 7-8pm ET on Zoom — we’ll send out a reminder before that event, as well as an agenda on our meeting notes document [4]. If you’d like to help us organize these events in the future, please join us — the more people are involved, the more events we can organize!
cheers, Gaurav
