Hello NC Wikipedian friends!
Some of you have heard about plans to develop a North American Hub to connect Wikimedians from North America -- primarily organized around affiliates like our user group. I've been excited about the possibility of this project because I think such a hub would be tremendously useful to us as we continue to grow and develop. I think only good things can come from more cross-pollination between North American affiliates. And while we're no longer the scrappy upstart we were five years ago, I love the possibility the Hub would offer to make it easier for future affiliates to get off the ground.
Richard (user: Pharos), sent draft text for the Hub's founding https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/North_American_Wikimedians/Hub_founding/Agreement_draft_text, and asked whether our user group might be interested in signing on in support of the Hub. I would like to propose that the North Carolina Wikipedians sign on. If you have thoughts or opinions, please send them.
If you are *opposed* to our signing on, please respond by Oct. 31. If I haven't heard any objections by then, I will sign on in support of the Hub on behalf of our user group.
Thanks, Emily
