Hi, folks!
The main item on our meeting agenda for Tuesday, August 12th, 7PM on Zoom, is event planning for our Eastern North Carolina WikiPix event. We're hoping this can be a hybrid event with Eastern Carolina University (ECU).
We've previously held a similar, but online-only, event focused on Western North Carolina, so the event planning shouldn't be too big of a lift. This is a great opportunity to get more involved in the North Carolina Wikimedia community.
To-do: * Help us make decisions about date and time; Possible tie-in to ECU's student involvement fair https://calendar.ecu.edu/event/get_a_clue Thursday, August 29, 2013 1:00pm to 4:00pm EDT. * Coordinate on-site activities with ECU (where there has been some interest in forming a student club) * Identify Eastern NC photos from our WikiPics Campaign * Identify presenters / hosts for online and onsite activities * Review activity instructions https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SHz0G8jS2QqAZR4MLUF6JUndpKPsB8q_NLI-AXF8... for clarity and completeness * Publicize the event * Anything else I'm forgetting? Options: * Decide if we'd like to load the pictures in the ISA tool to give the event a mobile-friendly, multilingual flavor https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:ISA_Tool o If yes, need someone to own the work of getting our pictures in the tool and maybe write up some instructions * Administer registration with WPWP 2025 Participating Communities page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Pages_Wanting_Photos_2025/Particip..., if we'll be holding the event before August 31st. Gaurav's facilitating this meeting, I'll be taking notes, you can just show up and join in! Feel free to add items to the agenda on the Etherpad linked below.
If you'd like to help with the event, but can't make the meeting time, reply here or leave us a note on the Etherpad.
Yours,
Jennifer
