Hi everybody!
Crystal Boceta and Pacita Rudder from Wikimedia NYC [1] would like to meet us to talk about the Wikicurious event series they have been organizing with sponsorship from Craig Newmark Philanthropies (see [2] for an example event from last September), and to discuss whether we’d like to organize an event together in June. They won’t be able to attend our next meeting in May, but I’ve set up an optional meeting next Tuesday, April 29 at 7pm ET on Zoom [3]. Anybody is welcome to join us!
We will still have our usual meeting next month on the second Tuesday of next month, May 13 at 7pm ET, where we can continue to discuss a Wikicurious event or any other meetings as we enter summer here in NC. If that time doesn't work for anybody, please let me know! Notetakers and facilitators welcome.
Cheers,
Gaurav

Hi everybody,
Our next North Carolina Wikipedians meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday, April 8 at 7pm ET. I’ve set up a Zoom y’all can use if you want [1], but I won’t be able to attend. I see Jennifer has volunteered for note-taking — thanks so much, Jennifer! Would anybody else like to volunteer to facilitate the meeting? I’ve started working on an agenda for the meeting [2], but please feel free to edit it as needed.
Hope y’all have a good meeting on Tuesday, and I’ll see you all in May!
cheers,
Gaurav

Hi Richard!
At our last North Carolina Wikipedians meeting, we looked at the unassessed WikiProject North Carolina articles [1] and wondered if we could help with assessing these articles, either as an ongoing group project or in a focussed editathon. We found the assessment guide for WikiProject North Carolina [2], and one of the North Carolina Wikipedians has some experience with this. Before we get started with trying to organize that effort, I was wondering if you knew of any other WALRUS groups who had specifically taken on article assessment as a background activity who might have some advice on how best we could organize such an effort. Please let us know if you do!
cheers,
Gaurav

Hi there!
I am writing on behalf of the CapX project to share the exciting news that
a fresh new platform version has just been launched!
Find here
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Meet_the_Capacity_Exchange.webm>
the video created especially to celebrate this moment. You can access
capx.toolforge.org, and create or update your users profiles, if you would
like to. If you need any help, please let me know.
In this version, the community feedback received in the last months was
(most of it) incorporated. One of the main innovations is the Organization
Profile. Every initiative, affiliate, or independent group can now have
their own CapX profile — just let us know who you want to administrate the
organization profile (it must be someone with a CapX user profile).
Finally, CapX is a centrally-designed tool that allows for decentralized
capacity building. To achieve its goal of providing a service to facilitate
matching and connecting people across the Movement, we need wikimedians to
join in and start exchanging.
If you want to promote the tool within your own community, I will be happy
to assist you. Just let me know what you need, and we can schedule
meetings, workshops, or feedback sessions.
To find more information about the project, access the Project’s meta page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Capacity_Exchange/pt-br> or the link of
the tool <http://capx.toolforge.org/>.
Best regards,
Vic
