Hi everyone,

The string of emails from July still applies for tomorrow's edit-a-thon at CSU. Please show your support, digitally or in-person, if you can!

Who's interested in applying for Wikimedia user group status as "Rocky Mountains Wikimedians?" The application asks for number of interested parties and future event ideas, to name a few questions. What say ye?

The point of this message: Experienced Wikipedians, please plan to attend, whether in person or online. There will be many a new user, from students to librarians to professors, who would very likely appreciate your guidance in citing, researching, formatting, et cetera. There’s free food if you attend in-person :-).

ALSO, admins and those who have the power: how can it be ensured that a large number of users will be able to register at the various locations during the event?

FYI, the CSU event organizer/point of contact is Shea [User: Bibliophage01].

Respectfully submitted,

You can find some advice here:

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Mass_account_creation

Best is indeed to have people create their own accounts before the event.
You probably will want to be ready for people who haven't done it arriving
at the event, though, so you'll need someone with the accountcreator right.
As I'm an admin and admins automatically have accountcreator, I can help if
I'm available at the time. It'd be best to make sure you have someone with
accountcreator available (remotely or otherwise) who can create accounts as
needed.
